P.J. Ochlan has been an entertainment industry professional since 1986. His work as a dialect and performance coach is enriched by his extensive and ongoing experience as a successful working actor and host. Whether it’s on set, behind a microphone or in front of an audience, P.J. knows first-hand what works and how to get you there.
Originally from Long Island, P.J. successfully lost his own New York accent to improve his versatility in the industry, and his keen ear has helped him land countless accented roles. Some of his more challenging highlights include speaking seven different languages in a row in a critically acclaimed production of Shakespeare; public speaking engagements in China conducted in Mandarin; and his multiple award-winning narration of more than 350 audiobooks, including many featuring upwards of 100 characters each, and a series featuring 1000 characters.
P.J. has worked alongside legends such as Jodie Foster, Al Pacino, and Robin Williams; under the direction of Clint Eastwood and Garry Marshall; and in the productions of Scott Rudin, Aaron Spelling, Brian Grazer and David E. Kelley.
Behind the scenes P.J. has also produced and directed for film, television, stage and web. On camera he has starred in several critically acclaimed films, in many television shows including four series regular roles, and in a number of new media productions; on stage P.J. has appeared on Broadway, performed in Joseph Papp’s historic New York Shakespeare Festival, and served as narrator and emcee for numerous cultural events and performances; and behind the microphone he has been a radio personality for 10 years with programs on several Southern California stations, a voiceover talent, and an audiobook narrator with dozens of fiction and non-fiction titles to his credit.
P.J. speaks English, Mandarin, French, German, and Italian.
